Este 11 de enero se cumplieron siete años del lanzamiento de Contra, el segundo disco de Vampire Weekend que los confirmó como una de las bandas más importantes del indie en la primera década del 2000.
Para celebrarlo, el ex miembro Rostam, quien produjo el disco, organizó una serie de preguntas y respuestas sobre este disco. Rostam habla sobre sus inspiraciones (M.I.A., Bach, Chopin), el arte de tapa y las tomas que no quedaron. En un momento reveló que en esas sesiones hicieron una versión de “Hannah Hunt” (tema que después incluyeron en Modern Vampires of the City) pero que “sonaba un poco a… Nelly Furtado“. Desde que dejó Vampire Weekend el año pasado, Rostam publicó temas como solista (“EOS” y “Gravity Don’t Pull Me“) y colaboró con Hamilton Leithauser para el disco I Had a Dream That You Were Mine. También hizo el score de The OA, una de las más recientes series de Netflix.
